There are a very few rules that we need to make sure we follow this year in RFK. These rules are the result of an agreement between DC United, La Norte and CSC, the security firm. Please take a note of these.

DC United Rules

1. All regular stadium rules apply in La Norte. Obviously, some are relaxed for us to operate, but, by and large, they still apply. Please respect them.

2. ALL forms of pyro are out. This includes flares, firecrackers, etc. etc. etc. Period. End of conversation. The DC Police have expressed concern over the smoke bombs in La Norte and other groups. We DO NOT want the DC Police entering our section. If they do that, odds are someone is going to jail. Remember that we are in a heightened state of security and any suspicious smoke is likely to provoke a response that we don't want. PLEASE leave them at home. If it involves an open flame at any point in the process, forget about it.

3. We only throw toilet paper rolls and streamers onto the field. NOTHING ELSE. (Specially no cash register tape, please!). DC United AND CSC have explicitly allowed us and ENCOURAGE US to throw toilet paper and streamers or other soft paper onto the field after the national anthem and after DC United goals. We are the only group with this sanction, not just at RFK, but anywhere else that CSC handles security. The cash register tape is a safety concern because of the danger it poses to players and field personnel. PLEASE make a note of this. I don't want us to lose this privilege.

4. Smoking, of any substance, is strictly forbidden, by DC Law, the fire marshall, DC United, CSC and us.

5. Standing on seats must stop. Every time a seat breaks, DC United must pay to replace it. And there's the safety issue.

House Rules

1. La Norte is open to all DC United fans regardless of where they come from, who their favorite player is, etc. etc. Please welcome all United fans as our own.

2. We definitely encourage creativity in our songs and chants. But "hate speech" in English, Spanish, French or any other language is forbidden. We're all adults (for the most part) and we all know the line and shouldn't cross it. Remember that your fellow Norteno may be the nationality you are trying to insult.

3. Be respectful of the fans around us. Don't throw confetti toward them. Keep it all in our section (or on the field). We don't want to drive away our fellow fans.

4. We reserve the right not to sell tickets to anyone for any reason, stated or not.

5. Anyone supporting the opposing team in the La Norte section will be asked to leave.

If there are any issues with CSC, please bring it to Dougg's or any other DCpUlos' attention immediately. Don't wait until after the game to let us know.

Also, if you're breaking any of the rules and get caught, you are on your own with CSC, DC United and the MPD.
